The group applied for financial support for a Community Garden project which will see improved access and pathways, colourful planted beds, and a sensory and floral garden.
Chair of the Glynn Community Development Association Emma Brownlee said, "We'd like to thank Premier Power for the funding to start work on the garden. We know it is appreciated by the local community in Glynn who will soon have an enjoyable community space for socialising with friends or quiet reflection."
Barbara Stevenson, Premier Power's Communications manager said, "Premier Power is delighted to support local groups and help them improve services and facilities throughout the community.
"We place great value on outreach projects including our Community Fund and other environmental initiatives. We are always very keen to contribute to projects that improve the environment for the local community in a tangible way. I know the work on the garden will enhance its use by the people in Glynn village and I wish the Development Association success with the hard work ahead.
"I would also encourage all local community groups to keep Premier Power in mind for projects when we launch our next wave of applications for the Community Fund 2009 in June".
