This year, three awards of £2,500 will be granted to local groups who can demonstrate that their organisation will use the money to improve the quality of life for local residents. While applications are welcomed from all community groups and charitable organisations, preference this year will be given to projects with a health related focus.
Henry Coolidge, CEO of Premier Power said, "Premier Power's Community Fund, now in its fourth year, was set up to support projects in the local area. It provides an ideal opportunity for groups in Larne to apply for much needed funds to continue their ongoing work with the local community. I would urge community and voluntary groups in the area to get their applications in before the deadline on Friday 26th September."
Barbara Hamilton, Premier Power's Communication manager added, "There's only four weeks to go until this years submission period closes. This year we are particularly keen to hear from health related organisations such as local health charities, residential homes and NHS dentists who may want to cheer up a waiting area. Premier Power is part of the local community and the community fund allows us to channel funds directly to groups that have tangible proposals to contribute something positive to their area."
In addition to the Community Fund, Premier Power operates a Small Grants Programme throughout the year whereby staff nominate local worthy causes, beneficiaries this year have included the East Antrim Alzheimer's Society and the Antrim Area Hospital Neo-Natal Unit.
The closing date for applications is Friday 26th September, 2008. Successful applicants will be notified by phone. Click here for an application form and here for terms and conditions.
