Premier Power employees donate £2000 to Antrim Area Hospital

The Neonatal Unit at Antrim Area Hospital has received £2000 as a result of Ballylumford based Premier Power’s commitment of donating money locally to worthy causes. In lieu of Christmas Cards, the company’s employees annually select a deserving beneficiary with 2007 seeing the premature baby unit in Antrim being rewarded.

Barbara Hamilton, Community Relations Manager for Premier Power said, "Our employees value greatly their input into selecting charitable causes throughout the year. Emphasis in 2007 was placed on children and young people through our Community Fund Initiative so I feel it is appropriate that the Neonatal Unit Fund in Antrim has been given a boost to kick start the new-year."

Alan Anderson, an engineer at Premier Power who nominated the Unit's Fund visited the Hospital and presented the cheque to Sister Heather Graham.

Sister Heather Graham of the Antrim Neonatal Unit commented, "To have Premier Power back in the Unit was an absolute pleasure, we are also all very appreciative of Alan for personally acknowledging our work. On behalf of all the families past, present and future that will pass through our doors and all the nurses who work tirelessly with the children I thank Premier Power for their generous donation. The money will be used to buy further life-saving equipment to ensure all babies get the fighting chance they deserve."
