Community Care Provision to Benefit from Good Safety Practice

The East Antrim Alzheimer’s Society was presented with a cheque for £1000 recently as a result of an ongoing Health & Safety scheme at Premier Power Limited. The scheme, which sees employees at Premier Power’s facilities at Ballylumford carry out Behavioural Based Safety observations, helps ensure Health and Safety remains at the forefront of the company’s operations. £2 is donated each time an employee completes a Behavioural Based Safety card, with the target of 500 cards set as the trigger for a £1000 donation to be made.

Barbara Hamilton, Community Relations Manager at Premier Power, said;
"This scheme is another demonstration of Premier Power's first class commitment to Health and Safety. Over £4000 has been generated by the scheme and is donated to a charity of employees choosing. On this occasion we are delighted to hand over this £1000 to East Antrim Alzheimer's Society, knowing that it will be used to great effect."

Linda Forbes, Outreach Worker for Alzheimer's Society East Antrim Branch commented;
"We thank Premier Power for their kind donations whose efforts in maintaining good safety practice will help us in our work to provide information, advice and support to those affected by Alzheimer's in the East Antrim community. We strive to increase public awareness of dementia through a number of initiatives including school visits and carer information programmes that we run periodically in the area to provide an opportunity for learning and discussion.
